Education: The new face of Evolution!

There is that glow and radiation of change that accompanies an enlightened mind.

Evolution is the process of change that occurs overtime which was only evident by close observation. Alfred Wallace and Charles Darwin made us grasp their theory which was explained that every generation changes by a very little bits, but all these changes can be put together over a period of time to make a big difference: that’s evolution! [1]

These little changes which can be described in various working surfaces of implementation can be called faces; which can also be used in describing the changes that occur in life generally. These changes can now be seen not only in human, but in societies, countries, and nations undergoing transformations.

The African continent and most especially the West African and Northern African countries are presently undergoing certain transformations and changes in the economy and in political policies; If you like, certain regional evolutions. These evolutions have been reported to have had its roots from the management of Mineral Resources [Oil, Gas, and others] and Socio-Economic Issues in the West, while Governance and Socio-Political Issues have been the catalyst for this change in the North region of Africa.

If we take a case study of Nigeria and its evolution in the past decade, we should be able to align with this line of argument, that, the best gift for that Nation is 'the eradication of corruption and dishonesty as a nation', 'the empowerment of enlightened young minds into positions of trust', and 'the sacrifice for discipline and creativity', and this, I strongly opine, can only be achieved by the education of the mind. Because "there is that glow and radiation of change that accompanies an enlightened mind".

Education may be described as the acquisition of knowledge in basic skills, academics, technical, discipline, and citizenship. Or, are we getting it all wrong? I think our society says only academic basics are important and that is based on collecting knowledge without understanding its value. Have we considered the processing of knowledge, using inspiration, visionary ambitions, creativity, risk, being able to bounce back from failure, motivation? Are these what an evolving nation or continent needs? Most education institutions don’t consider these skills. These skills are associated with understanding the value of knowledge and if this is what we call change, what other evolution do we seek, now that we are still humans? [2]

Education is the new face of evolution. 

Now that we have the ability to structure and design our evolutionary traits;

• What will be your contribution? 
• Will you stand and watch others decide your fate when you have the opportunity to chip in? 
• Will you keep shot when you have a voice to speak?
